CPPI Completes Construction of Rehab Center, NICU for HCA Florida Capital Hospital
Charles Perry Partners, Inc. recently completed construction on the HCA Florida Capital Hospital. Also known as the Capital Regional Medical Center, the hospital is a fully accredited healthcare facility with approximately 500 providers and 288 patient beds.
CPPI provided preconstruction and construction management services for a new inpatient rehabilitation facility addition, while also performing a renovation on the third floor to create a 10-bed, Level 2 neonatal intensive care unit. This expands the hospital’s ability to provide intensive care for sick and premature infants. CPPI partnered with Dallas-based HKS Architects on the project, which broke ground in April 2021.
The new 27,000-square-foot comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation center features 20 private patient rooms, a dining room and a gymnasium. An enclosed breezeway connects the new building to the main hospital, allowing for easy accessibility between the rehabilitation facility and the hospital’s acute-care services.
The new center increases access to healthcare, particularly for seniors, and will help provide therapy for patients with functional limitations brought on by injury or illness. The rehab center serves those to have had a stroke, suffer a cardiac or pulmonary event, have a brain, bank or spinal cord injury, neuromuscular disorders and more debilitating setbacks.
