Linda Taylor Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award in Healthcare Facility Design by AIA California

Linda Taylor, AIA, LEED AP, founder of Taylor Design, has been honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the California chapter of the American Institute of Architects. She was recognized for contributions and accomplishments toward the design and development of healthcare facilities in California.

She founded Taylor Design in 1979, when it was rare for a woman architect to independently own and manage an architecture firm. She was president for 25 years, then chaired the board of directors for an additional 12 years. She continues to serve on the board of the growing firm.

Taylor studied under Sim Van der Ryn, one of the first architects to research and promote sustainable design practices in architecture. She served as president of the Orange County Chapter of the AIA, and a board member of the AIA California Council. She also served on the advisory councils for Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and Orange Coast College, and was a founding member of the American College of Healthcare Architects.
