Sheila Cahnman Joins AECOM as Healthcare Sector Leader

Cahnman SheilaMINNEAPOLIS, Minn. –  AECOM has bolstered its healthcare design leadership team with the addition of Sheila Cahnman, AIA, ACHA, LEED AP, as vice president, healthcare market sector leader, based in AECOM’s Chicago, Ill. and Minneapolis, Minn. offices. Sheila will be a key member of the healthcare leadership team, responsible for development, strategy and growth of AECOM’s distinguished design practice both nationally and internationally, furthering its reputation as a healthcare industry giant in innovative, client responsive planning and design.

AECOM has had a healthcare architecture presence in the Midwest for more than 100 years, serving such clients as the Mayo Clinic, University of Kentucky, Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, Park Nicollet Health Services and healthcare providers throughout the Middle East and Asia. AECOM’s suite of healthcare capabilities is diverse and includes planning, architecture, engineering, landscape architecture, program, cost and construction management.

In addition to more than 30 years of healthcare project experience, she has presented at numerous conferences and symposiums regarding the future of healthcare design and published articles focusing on the current trends and issues facing healthcare today.

Cahnman earned a Master of Architecture degree and a Bachelor of Arts in Design from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a former president of Chicago Women in Architecture.
