INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Building Owners and Managers Association has named St.Vincent Medical Center Northeast Medical Office Building, Fishers, Ind., a North Central Region winner in its highly regarded The Outstanding Building of the Year program.
The 119,844-square-foot MOB was developed by Indianapolis-based Duke Realty on what is now the campus of Ascension Health’s newly built St.Vincent Fishers Hospital. Duke Realty has managed the facility since it opened in 2008.
“It’s an honor for Duke Realty to earn a TOBY award for building management excellence,” says Ryan Rothacker, vice president, Asset Management & Customer Service, Duke Realty. “This award is a tribute to our team and their facility management expertise and service to tenants.”
Mr. Rothacker added, “When St.Vincent Medical Center Northeast opened, it was the first freestanding emergency department in the state. We’re very proud that this successful facility is being replicated by other hospital systems in Indiana and throughout the United States.”
As noted, the MOB houses an emergency department, as well as a full-service imaging center on the first floor; an ambulatory surgery center with four operating rooms, two endoscopy suites and one minor procedure room, physical therapy and rehabilitation services, a laboratory and an on-site pharmacy. The facility features a covered patient drop-off area, an on-site monitored perimeter security and access control system and a private elevator for physicians and discrete cases. The St.Vincent Medical Center Northeast MOB had won the local Indianapolis, Ind. TOBY earlier in the year, qualifying it to compete in the North Central Region program. All regional winners will now proceed to the final, international level of competition. Regional winners will be honored and international winners announced live at the TOBY banquet on June 25 during the BOMA International 2013 Every Building Conference & EXPO in San Diego.
Created in 1985, the TOBY Award is regarded as the most noteworthy and comprehensive evaluation program in the commercial real estate industry. The TOBY program recognizes excellence in building management and operations in several categories based on building size and type. The buildings are thoroughly evaluated during the judging process on all facets of a building’s operations, including tenant relations, commitment to environmental sustainability, emergency preparedness, budgeting, work order systems, security standards, staff experience and continuing education.
