Ripon, Wis. — The Ripon Medical Center, Agnesian HealthCare leaders and Ripon, Wis. area community recently came together to celebrate the official start of construction of a new 120,000-square-foot facility for the local hospital.

More than 160 people gathered at the hospital’s groundbreaking ceremony to listen to details surrounding the new Ripon Medical Center, see actual renderings and floor plans and enjoy good conversation and refreshments.

“It has been over a year since Ripon Medical Center became a part of Agnesian HealthCare, and it has been a fantastic period of growth and new introductions,” says Katherine Vergos, Ripon Medical Center chief operating officer. “This new facility will be the most visible development that Ripon and surrounding communities will see as you enter the city limits, casino online pl and we couldn’t be happier.”

Once complete in summer 2014, patients and visitors will enter through a main entrance that gives the experience of entering one single, integrated medical center.

The hospital’s first floor will feature mainly outpatient services, including provider offices, medical imaging, laboratory and emergency services. A separate entrance will be available for surgical patients and their families with a separate entrance for departure. Dedicated surgical parking will also be on hand. A meditation/reflection room will be located on the first floor.

On the second floor, all inpatient services will be located on one side, including two labor/delivery/recovery and postpartum rooms as part of the Women & Infants Unit, four Intensive Care Unit rooms (two which will be acuity adaptable) to flex with Medical/Surgical volumes and inpatient care rooms. Inpatient pharmacy will be next to this area.

Joan Karsten, Ripon Medical Center Board of Directors chairperson, says the new facility reinforces the hospital’s commitment, as well as that of Agnesian HealthCare, to keep as many healthcare services at a local level.
