Seattle Children’s Hospital Engages Visitors in Construction Progress with ‘Where’s Waldo’ Game

SEATTLE — In order to engage patients, families and visitors in the construction progress of its expansion, Seattle Children’s Hospital has launched a Where’s Waldo™ game. The hospital, along with Sellen Construction, invites visitors to the site to find Waldo and win a prize.

Construction began after the Seattle City Council voted to approve Seattle Children’s growth plans, providing the nearly at-capacity 250-bed hospital the ability to add an additional 350 beds in four phases over the next 20 years. Children’s opened its Northeast Seattle campus in 1953 and has worked closely with neighbors over the years to minimize the impact of the hospital’s growth. Prior to the agreement, hospital officials revised its master plan several times to help mitigate the impact of its future growth on the neighborhood.

To participate in the game, visitors can follow Waldo as he visits the construction site and while on the hospital campus, he can be seen from the following areas:

Seattle Children’s Giraffe Lobby Waiting Area
Starbucks Café – Giraffe Level
Family Area – Giraffe level 2, room G2104
Family Area – Giraffe level 4, room G4014

The popular character can also be found on the construction blog web cam at http://oxblue.com/pro/open/seattlechildrenshospital.

The game runs 9:30-4 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more details, visit http://construction.seattlechildrens.org.
