HGA has been selected to design the new Heart Institute at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The facility will offer imaging technology and seamless care for pediatric cardiac patients. In collaboration with the UPMC construction team, HGA developed the programming, planning and design of the three-story, 50,000-square-foot facility, which will be built on top of the existing parking garage on the UPMC Children’s Lawrenceville campus. HGA led the planning, engineering and design/build and was a consultant for the interior design and mechanical and electrical engineering for the institute, which opened in April.
