BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Princeton Baptist Medical Center began construction of a $57 million expansion at its existing campus Wednesday, July 14.
Hospital officials and city leaders broke ground on the project that will include renovation of 16 hospital operating rooms and add more than 90,000 square feet of space for surgical recovery and improved patient and visitor access.
“We are very fortunate to have very strong and committed physicians and nurses,” said Keith Parrott, president of Princeton Baptist. “And this project will contribute greatly to their ability to provide the high level of care our patients expect and deserve.”
Parrott said the hospital has invested about $73 million in the campus in the past several years, but the groundbreaking Wednesday marked the first capital investment of this scale in more than 30 years.
