Multimedia Studio Opens at Northwell Health’s Cohen Children’s Medical Center
The Seacrest Studio has opened at Northwell Health’s Cohen Children’s Medical Center in Queens, New York. The interactive space allows children to explore a variety of programming, including radio, television and social media, whether physically in the studio or watching through a closed-circuit network from their hospital room.
Patients can host radio and television shows, watch live musical performances, play games and interview visiting celebrity guests.
Strategically placed in a high-foot-traffic area, the studio is located in the hospital’s atrium, surrounded by the gift shop, cafeteria and hospital lobby. The L-shaped studio has a glass façade with the flexibility to be self-contained with windows that open into the atrium when desired. The design expands the studio’s reach and broadcasts to the community space beyond allowing patients and visitors to view the daily programming.
The project team included Page Southerland Page and Gilbane.
