West Valley officials and other stakeholders recently celebrated the opening of a multi-specialty clinic at Phoenix Children’s – Avondale Campus in Arizona.
The three-level clinic will offer care in 25 pediatric subspecialties. Phoenix Children’s expanded the Avondale location to answer the growing need for pediatric-specific healthcare in the growing West Valley. The 71,250-square-foot facility was built by Kitchell and designed by HKS.
In addition to the expanded specialties the clinic will have more providers onsite, more visit availability and two-and-a-half times more patient rooms, from 27 rooms in 2013 to 68. The growth is part of Phoenix Children’s long-term strategy to bring care closer to home for Arizona families. Later this year, a freestanding emergency department will open on the campus to answer a pressing need for pediatric emergency care in the Southwest Valley.
The campus represents a $39.9 million investment and 164 new jobs in Avondale. It is expected to serve 45,000 West Valley children every year.
