Joining Outpatient and Inpatient Services for Client Convenience
Sarasota Memorial Health Care System in Sarasota, Florida, is expanding its cancer care center of excellence by building an outpatient care pavilion to deliver convenient, high-quality cancer care to the community and south Florida region.
Ground was recently broken for a 200,000-square-foot, 7-story pavilion. It will link to the existing in-patient oncology tower with a pedestrian bridge and form a new gateway to the northern part of the main healthcare campus, updating its identity and brand. The project includes a 700-car parking deck and a central utility plant.
The pavilion will house medical, radiation and surgical oncologists, radiation oncology and infusion services, a conference center, outpatient surgical floor, and imaging department with linear accelerators, MRI and CT. Outside will be a lushly landscaped ceremonial garden for patients and their families to celebrate completion of treatment. The project is particularly complex due to its staging on a tight urban site and the need to keep services operational during phasing.
The pavilion has an anticipated opening in 2025. The project team includes EYP and Turner Construction/J2 Solutions.
