Ground Broken for Moffitt Cancer Center Surgical Hospital
A groundbreaking ceremony was recently held for a new Moffitt Cancer Center project in Tampa, Florida. The project entails development of a 20-acre property that will include a new 10-story, 498,000-square-foot inpatient surgical hospital, central utility plant and three-story parking garage, and will be connected to Moffitt’s existing outpatient center on the same campus.
The project will be developed in two phases, with the first phase including 128 inpatient beds with the capacity to expand to 400 beds. Construction for the new hospital begins this month, with occupancy anticipated for the summer of 2023.
The project team includes Barr & Barr Inc., HDR, Horus Construction Services Inc. and Hammes Company.
