Construction has been completed on a multi-discipline care facility for Good Samaritan Hospital of Catholic Health Services, located in West Babylon, New York. The single-level features 9,735 square feet of space dedicated to multiple medical disciplines and a 4,020-square-foot St. Charles Physical Therapy space. The goal of the Catholic Health Services was to provide a variety of patient services in one convenient location. Housed in the space are two primary care physicians, one cardiologist and one endocrinologist.
Racanelli Construction served as the general contractor on the project which involved interior demolition and site work. Incorporated into the new structure were exterior awnings, an exterior insulation and finish system, standing seam roof and metal panels and masonry work on the existing building. New framing/walls, ceilings, flooring, doors/frames/hardware, millwork/casework, storefront systems, paint, blinds, bathroom accessories and all electrical, fire alarm, fire sprinkler, HVAC and plumbing systems were installed.
The open-floor design encompasses 20 patient rooms, three procedure rooms and private conference rooms. There also are doctor’s offices, stress/echo rooms, reception and waiting area and multiple nurse stations. The contractor applied a mix of building and design materials including concrete, asphalt, sand, crushed rock, masonry block, aluminum, wood, plastic, Corian, steel, glass, compound/caulking, tile, vinyl, carpeting and paint.
A pre-determined Department of Health inspection date required a tight, expedited schedule. The project which began in September 2019 was completed in January 2020.
