Ground Broken for Virginia Hospital Center Expansion Project
Groundbreaking was recently celebrated for the Virginia Hospital Center expansion project, located in Arlington. The expansion will take place in phases, first with the construction of a new 1,700-car parking garage followed by the hospital’s new 250,000-square foot, seven-story outpatient center, just north of its current campus.
VHC engaged Hammes Company to complete a facility master plan to guide the hospital’s growth and expansion strategy, and then subsequently engaged the firm through a competitive process to provide project management services for the expansion. These services include advising on all aspects of the design, construction and occupancy planning for the new facility.
The architect for the project is HDR and the construction manager is Skanska USA Building.
