SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — URS Corporation announced that the company has been awarded an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity, multiple-award contract from the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center in Huntsville, Ala. to provide design-build services for the Medical Repair and Renewal Program in the continental United States and at overseas locations.

The contract has a one-year base and four one-year option periods. The program has a maximum, aggregate value of approximately $585 million to the seven awardees, if all option periods are exercised. Under the terms of the contract, URS can compete for or be awarded task orders to design and build U.S. Army medical facilities. This work can include repairs, renovations and procurement, as well as the installation and maintenance of required equipment and systems.

Commenting on the contract, Gary V. Jandegian, president of Infrastructure & Environment for URS, said: “This contract expands upon the relationship that URS has established with the military in performing medical facilities design and build, starting with the renovation of the Keesler Air Force Base Medical Center following Hurricane Katrina and, recently, the design-build of a new Medical Education Training Complex at Fort Sam Houston in Texas. The selection of URS for the contract demonstrates the Army’s confidence in URS to deliver high-level expertise in the design and construction of healthcare facilities.”
