Ground Broken for MeSun Health & Rehabilitation Center
Dr. Hanson Kim, M.D., president & CEO of MeSun Health Services, led a group of dignitaries, including Lawrenceville, Georgia Mayor Judy Johnson, in a traditional groundbreaking ceremony to kick off the start of construction for a new 100-resident skilled nursing and rehabilitation center and a MeSun hospice expansion of nine beds located in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
The new $15-million MeSun Health & Rehabilitation Center totals 50,176 square feet and is the first of its kind in the United States.
MeSun is “setting history here in Lawrenceville” as the first Asian owned and operated care center, and it serves a diverse segment of the population, said MeSun Community Liaison JoEtta Polk. MeSun and its staff take pride in providing unrivaled care for its patients, Polk said, noting that caregivers are fluent in English, Spanish, Korean, Chines, Vietnamese, Krio, Patwa and Albanian.
The new MeSun Skilled & Rehabilitation Center will serve 100 patients with 38 private and 31 semi-private rooms. The facility will provide the latest in technological innovations of care and personalized skilled nursing services.
The culture of care: improving quality of life, maintaining independence and dignity and encouraging mobility are cornerstones of the Evidence-Based Design.
Construction will be complete in March 2020.
Stegenga + PARTNERS is the architect and Hogan Construction Group is the general contractor.
