McCarthy Breaks Ground for $28M Springfield Rehabilitation Hospital
The 63,000-square-foot, two-story rehab hospital, located in Springfield, Mo., will have 60 beds and provide inpatient rehabilitation for patients who are recovering from strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries and other conditions. Construction is expected to be completed in early 2014.
McCarthy earned the work through a competitive proposal and interview process in front of a decision-making team that included Duke Reality Corporation, functioning as the owner and a team from Mercy and Centerre as the eventual building tenant. Nashville, Tenn.-based Earl Swensson Associates, Inc. is the project architect.
Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital Springfield is a partnership between Mercy and Centerre Healthcare Corporation. Centerre has partnered with Mercy for similar projects in St. Louis, Mo. and Oklahoma City, Okla.
