Hackensack Meridian Health Ocean Medical Center recently invested $18.5 million into creating a groundbreaking medical-surgical suite on the third floor, above the Hirair and Anna Hovnanian Emergency Care Center. The project team includes EYP, Turner, BR+A and Stantec.
Located in Brick, New Jersey, the new Southwest Pavilion is a medical-surgical suite dedicated to elective surgeries, such as joint and hip replacements, bariatric and GI procedures. At 36,000 square feet, the unit tripled in size. It includes a variety of innovative features designed to support wellness and empower patients to return to their daily lifestyle as soon as possible, including:
- Three state-of-the-art neighborhoods. Each neighborhood features distinctive colors with 12 patient rooms.
- Curved design of nurses’ station enhances nurses’ line of sight into patient rooms, promoting safety and efficiency.
- 36 private patient rooms with modern amenities, designed to increase patient and family comfort. The rooms include an in-room speaker system, iPad, pull-out couches for family members to stay overnight and a safe for personal belongings.
- Nurse servers provide nurses with instant internal and external access to medical supplies, lowering patient disruption, while increasing efficiency and enabling nurses to spend more time with patients.
