Skanska to Build Replacement Hospital for UP Health System
Skanska has, together with its joint-venture partner Closner Construction, signed a contract with Duke LifePoint Healthcare to build its new replacement hospital for UP Health System – Marquette in Michigan. The total contract is worth $206 million.
The new 538,000-square-foot, 243-bed, replacement facility includes approximately 151,000 square feet of diagnostic and therapeutic services and 183,000 square feet of patient care services. Additionally, the project will include an adjoining medical office building and a parking structure.
The project architect is Gresham, Smith & Partners. Construction began in May 2016 and is slated for completion in October 2018.
