The Boldt Company and its sister company, Bildt, a prefabrication and modular supplier, along with leaders from Aspirus Health, celebrated the groundbreaking for Aspirus’ new hospital and clinic in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. The new hospital comes as the region has faced the closure of two major area hospitals in 2024, mirroring rural health challenges felt throughout much of the country.
To help bring essential care services online faster, Boldt, the project’s general contractor, and Bildt, along with architectural and engineering firm HGA, teamed to design a hybrid modular and traditional construction approach to the facility. Integrating volumetric modular construction for the emergency department and clinic portions of the hospital will allow for up to 30% of the facility to be constructed off-site at Bildt’s Oshkosh, Wisconsin fabrication facility.
Measuring approximately 35,000 square feet, the facility’s first phase will deliver an ED with 10 treatment rooms, 10 inpatient beds, an onsite clinic with 12 treatment rooms, imaging services (X-ray and CT), laboratory services and a pharmacy. The estimated completion date of Aspirus Chippewa Falls Hospital and Clinic is September 2026.
