The Center for Health Design will host the virtual exchange “Peace by Design: How Design Will Contribute to a More Peaceful World,” 1 p.m. ET Thursday, Jan. 9.
In her new book, “Peace by Design,” author Mardelle McCuskey Shepley discusses the definition of design and design thinking, and evidence regarding the direct and indirect contributions of design to peace. This free webinar offers an opportunity to join the author, along with three of the book’s contributing authors, for a multi-faceted discussion on the role that designers, academics and practitioners can have to achieve maximum societal contribution.
Presenters will explore peace endeavors at six scales of the physical environment: sustainable and equitable design, architecture/environmental psychology and interior design, and share their favorite examples of “peace projects.”
