Hydra Health, the in-house retail brand of healthcare amenities company HHP, officially opened its second location at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in West Philadelphia. Open to employees, patients and visitors, a grand opening celebration was marked with complimentary massages for hospital employees, plus food samples from celebrity chef Tom Colicchio’s fast-casual restaurant Root & Sprig, a gift card raffle to Hydra Health and a promotional discount coupon for every attendee.
The design approach for the 650-square-foot space prioritized creating a space characterized by brightness and a welcoming ambiance, while also maintaining an organized and uncluttered feel. This vision was brought to life through the strategic use of white paint on walls, revamped flooring, and the introduction of modern furnishings and shelving units. Products like snacks and drinks are placed near the front register for convenient access while greeting cards, flowers and balloons are grouped together.
Hydra Health also operates inside Geisinger Wyoming Valley, with another location to come this year. Working with healthcare partner sites, HHP funds and builds out the spaces in collaboration with Hydra Health, then the two work together to drive revenue and create additional services based on community needs. Hydra Health expansion plans include incorporating fitness, wellness and lactation suites, and extending into physician and staff lounges to help fight burnout.
