New Behavioral Health Center Opens in Pennsylvania
Warfel Construction Company officials joined representatives from Geisinger and Acadia Health at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Geisinger Behavioral Health Center Northeast, located in Moosic, Pennsylvania.
This 72,910-square-foot medical facility, which is a joint venture partnership between Acadia Healthcare and Geisinger, has 96 new patient beds divided among four units. Warfel broke ground in September 2021, and the official ribbon cutting was held on July 17. Warfel led the construction of the new facility, and partnered with Stengel Hill Architecture, Crunk Engineering, Skyhook Structural Engineering, P.C., and CMTA on this facility’s design and construction. The center will employ approximately 200 healthcare professionals.
The demand and need for behavioral health services has been increasing. This health center is expected to reduce the number of patients going to emergency rooms and help relieve some of that burden in the surrounding community.
