Construction Begins on Freestanding Pediatric Behavioral Health Facility in Ohio
Construction has started on Dayton Children’s Hospital’s freestanding behavioral health building, located in Ohio. When open in 2025, the new facility will help to bridge the gap between inpatient services provided by the hospital and community-wide initiatives designed to support patients after they are discharged.
- The new building will allow the hospital to:
- Double the number of behavioral health inpatient beds
- Allow expansion for specialized program development
- Allow for strengthened and smoother continuity of care by bringing behavioral health inpatient, outpatient and crisis services all under one roof
- Provide customized outdoor space to foster healing
- Create operational efficiencies and improved communication through cross-trained staff, proximity and access.
The project team includes Danis Construction, Cannon Design/FKP and Champlin Architecture. Learn more at childrensdayton.org/the-hub/dayton-childrens-breaks-ground-new-behavioral-health-building.
