Construction on Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s Arthur M. Blank Hospital has reached its highest point. A topping out ceremony was recently held to mark the project milestone, recognizing more than 1,500 dedicated construction workers.
Construction began in February 2020. The entire North Druid Hills Campus includes the hospital, the Center for Advanced Pediatrics, support buildings and plans for more than 20 acres of greenspace and walking trails.
The 1.5-million-square-foot hospital, slated to open in 2025, will be located at the northeastern corner of North Druid Hills and I-85 in Brookhaven. Designed to take advantage of healing views of nature, the hospital will include one tower with two patient wings and additional operating rooms, specialty beds and diagnostic equipment to meet anticipated patient needs. There also will be space for clinical research, clinical trials and overall patient care.
The project team includes ESa and Brasfield & Gorrie.
