Texas Oncology Breaks Ground on 50,000-Square-Foot Comprehensive Cancer Center in Amarillo
Texas Oncology recently broke ground on a new 50,000-square-foot cancer care center in Amarillo that will expand the capacity of the practice. The new cancer center will provide medical oncology, hematology, gynecologic oncology, radiation oncology, breast radiology, surgical oncology, and colon and rectal surgery services. Once open, patients and their care teams at the existing Texas Oncology, Texas Oncology Surgical Specialists, and Texas Breast Specialists will move to the new facility.
In addition to multi-disciplinary cancer care, the new center will be nearly a third larger than the current facility and will offer patients opportunities to participate in innovative clinical trials and cancer research. The facility will also provide educational services, genetic risk evaluation and testing, pharmacy services, and support groups.
The center is expected to open in late spring 2023. Skiles Group was the general contractor, and Perkins&Will was the architecture firm.
