Pinckneyville Community Hospital Breaks Ground on Expansion
Ground was recently broken for an $11-million renovation and expansion on behalf of Pinckneyville Community Hospital, located in Pinckneyville, Illinois. The 19,222-square-foot project includes a new family medical center, patient wing addition and renovations to the hospital’s existing rehabilitative therapy and emergency departments.
The family medical center will include 33 exam rooms, three procedure rooms, enlarged nurse stations, offices and a new lobby. The center will also provide multipurpose space for community education and behavioral health programs. Additionally, a new patient wing will add four acute care patient rooms, increasing the hospital’s total bed count to 20.
Renovations will include the hospital’s existing rehabilitative care department and ED. The existing occupational therapy department will receive additional space for specialty rehabilitation services, while the ED renovation will increase the number of emergency exam rooms from three to six.
Lawrence Group is providing architecture and interior design services, and is working with Murray Company and Horner & Shifrin. The project is expected to be complete May 2022. All hospital departments will remain open during construction.
