Expansion, Renovations Begin on Carilion Clinic Franklin Memorial Hospital
Renovation and expansion services have kicked off for Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital, located in Rocky Mount, Virginia. The effort will include adding two new procedure rooms and providing two updated operating rooms to help the hospital meet patient needs and provide more services.
The 5,230-square-foot, two-story addition will double the hospital’s OR footprint, providing space for more complex procedures. The renovations of existing pre- and post-operation recovery rooms, sterile processing zones and pharmacy and compounding lab, will enhance the hospitals current services. The project will be completed in three separate phases to allow existing hospital operations to continue uninterrupted.
The project team includes construction and development firm Skanska USA and architect Kahler Slater.
The renovation and expansion project officially kicked off in April 2021, with projected completion by April 2023.
