GS&P to Design Expansion at St. Vincent’s Riverside Medical Center in Jacksonville
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Gresham, Smith and Partners has been selected by Saint Vincent’s Healthcare to provide architecture, engineering and interior design services for a $55-million expansion at the health system’s Riverside Medical Center, located in Jacksonville, Florida. The facility will be a heart and vascular pavilion, equipped with state-of-the-art technology to meet the expanding needs of the Jacksonville community.
The 60,000-square-foot addition to the four-story facility will primarily be used to treat heart and vascular needs, housing 30 medical and surgical rooms and 30 intensive care rooms. Additionally, the design team will renovate approximately 20,000 square feet of existing space within the hospital. The design will include a subsection within the ICU devoted to recovery for patients who undergo open-heart surgeries and other cardiovascular procedures.
Goodson Nevin and Associates is the consulting engineer and Haskell is the general contractor.
Ground is expected to be broken this summer with a projected opening in fall 2019.
