Renovated 1950’s Santa Monica Historical Building Opens as New State-Of-The-Art Clinic
SANTA MONICA, Calif. – Pacific Neuroscience Institute has opened its new outpatient clinic in Santa Monica, California. The historic medical building is adjacent to Providence Saint John’s Health Center and within easy access of the hospital’s dedicated neurosurgical operating suites. The completely renovated facility, owned by Saint John’s Health Center Foundation, features state-of-the-art equipment and consultation rooms where patients benefit from the highest quality of comprehensive care.
According to the city of Santa Monica’s architectural description, the three-story building, formerly called the Santa Monica Doctors Building, is a streamlined modern medical office building designed in 1946 and constructed during the early 1950s. The building has a distinctive, curved corner entrance. The MOB is the kind of building type that was developed in the early twentieth century as the population in Los Angeles and Santa Monica grew and the medical profession became more specialized.
Many Santa Monica residents have watched the building’s transformation over the years from its original construction between 1950 and 1952 as a MOB for doctors, dentists and a pharmacy to its latest incarnation.
