WASHINGTON, D.C. – Gilbane Building Company has been selected to provide construction management-at-risk services for the Sibley Memorial Hospital Existing Tower Building renovation project. Sibley Memorial Hospital, a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine, has been serving the Washington, D.C. area since 1890. With Sibley’s new patient tower open since September 2016, the Sibley campus will continue its redevelopment with the ETB renovation.
The scope of the project includes significant infrastructure upgrades throughout the building, elevator modernizations and renovations to create warm-lit shell space to allow for Sibley’s future programming needs. Gilbane will use its newly formed National Healthcare Alliance to share best practices, cutting-edge trends and first-hand experiences with Sibley throughout the renovation of their existing facility. Construction at Sibley is scheduled to start this summer with completion scheduled for late 2018.
The architect serving on the project is Wilmot Sanz.
