DALLAS, Texas – Hammes has been selected to play a critical project management role for the new Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children’s North Campus in Frisco, Texas.

The new facility, which is expected to open in fall 2018, will be a five-story, 345,000-square-foot campus with a footprint of approximately 10 acres. The hospital is hoping to fulfill a growing need for patient care in the rapidly growing area of North Texas.

Hammes will serve as the owner’s representative for the construction of the new facility, and will work collaboratively with Scottish Rite Hospital’s staff and a construction team that includes HKS Architects and The Beck Group general contracting services to complete the new building.

The new facility will be an ambulatory care center that will offer clinics and day surgeries for children with orthopedic needs, including spine, hip, hand and foot disorders. The campus will be anchored by its Center for Excellence in Sports Medicine, led by Philip L. Wilson, M.D., and will provide specialized treatment for sports-related orthopedic conditions and concussions. The new fracture clinic, located in Plano, Texas, will also relocate to the North Campus. In addition, the campus will be proactive with an educational outreach program to improve athletic safety within schools and sports teams.

The new building will be a state-of-the-art facility that includes a movement science center, physical and occupational therapy services and outdoor amenities including playing fields, a walking and running trail and a playground park for patients and the community.
