Construction of Freestanding ER in Grand Prairie, Texas Completed
DALLAS, Texas – MYCON General Contractors has completed construction of a new First Choice Emergency Room, located at 901 West Jefferson in Grand Prairie, Texas. Construction on the .9-acre site at the high-traffic intersection of W. Jefferson and N. Carrier Parkway (Hwy 190) began in late August 2016 and was finished in March 2017. The site location was previously occupied by a service station and convenience store that were razed for this redevelopment project.
The new $3.5-million medical clinic is a one-story, 6,997-square-foot facility that represents one of the newest building types in the healthcare industry. Featuring onsite labs, digital imaging suites, including CT scanner, digital X-ray and ultrasound equipment, the freestanding emergency department is open 24/7/365 and staffed by emergency-trained, board-certified physicians and other support personnel.
Construction consisted of structural steel frame on a concrete slab, medical grade HVAC distribution systems and rooftop units along with exterior branding components, such as tower, stucco wall and ambulance canopy. Extensive landscaping provides a significant upgrade to the site.
The project team includes real estate developer PM Realty Group, GSR Andrade Architects and the owner, First Prairie LLC.
