CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – Adena Health System officials have selected Danis Building Construction Co. as general contractor for construction of Adena Regional Medical Center’s new emergency department. In addition, DesignGroup is serving as the project’s architectural firm.
The $36.1-million expansion and renovation project will modernize and expand the medical center’s outdated ED. Now underway, the project will nearly triple the size of ARMC’s current ED, taking it from 16,500 square feet to 59,000 square feet of new clinical and waiting space.
The Adena Regional Medical Center’s ED was last renovated 28 years ago. Since then, requirements for patient privacy have been implemented, technology advancements require space for new equipment and the number of patients, providers and caregivers has also increased—factors all contributing to the need to grow and meet today’s volume of patients using this service. Plans for the new department will help Adena’s ED serve patients in the fastest, most efficient and caring way.
Adena’s ED expansion and renovation project is expected to be complete in 2018.
