MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Knutson Construction has been awarded the contract to remodel the current emergency department at the Hennepin County Medical Center, located at 730 S. 8th Street in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The project is estimated at $1.6 million with an anticipated completion date of January 2017. Construction is planned to begin in late June.
The project, designed by HGA Architects, consists of a phased renovation to 8,700 square feet of existing ED space at HCMC with the addition of four new fast-track rooms, including one flexible room, two new quick assessment rooms, two provider care team work areas and renovated reception and waiting areas. Hennepin County Medical Center is a 484-bed hospital, adult and pediatric Level l Trauma Center and system of clinics serving the metro area.
