CentraCare Health Long Prairie recently hosted a ceremonial groundbreaking event. This marks the official start of an innovative model of healthcare that will soon be delivered in Central Minnesota. The new $30.8-million medical campus will replace the existing 60-year-old facility, scheduled to open in 2017.
The new model of healthcare will better serve the nearly 24,000 regional residents with a focus on outpatient care rather than inpatient stays, better access to additional specialists and privacy that meets today’s standards. The new state-of-the-art facility, designed by HGA Architects will include:
- 65,000-square-foot clinic and hospital facility
- 3 clinic procedure rooms
- 12 private patient rooms for inpatient and outpatient services
- 2 labor, delivery and recovery suites
- 2 operating suites
- Distinct and inviting clinic and emergency entrances
- Decentralized nursing stations to enhance efficiency and improve patient monitoring
