BIRMINGHAM, Ala.– Brasfield & Gorrie recently celebrated the groundbreaking for the M.T. Mustian Center at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare in Tennessee. With nearly 500 attendees, the event demonstrated the community’s enthusiasm for the new facility, its modern design and equipment and its extended service offerings.
With demolition and site work already under way, the project consists of a five-story, 340,000-square-foot surgical tower on Tallahassee Memorial’s existing campus. The scope includes the build-out of 28 operating rooms, 12 shelled operating rooms, four interventional suites for neurosurgical and vascular procedures, 60 intensive care unit rooms and 12 shelled ICU rooms. The new facility will replace all existing operating rooms and will house related support spaces, including post anesthesia care unit, respiratory therapy, CT imaging, perioperative services, sterile processing services, blood banking and pharmacy.
The construction team will complete the new tower, tying it into the existing hospital, assisting the owner with equipment procurement and installation and commissioning the building prior to opening.
Having completed nearly 1,500 projects on hospital campuses across the country, Brasfield & Gorrie will work closely with Tallahassee Memorial to ensure that the hospital remains fully operational and easily accessible throughout the construction process.
Designed by Gresham Smith & Partners, the $250-million project will modernize the hospital’s facilities and expand its service offerings, providing the Tallahassee community with the highest level of care.
