PASADENA, Calif. – DPR recently celebrated the completion of structural steel erection on the new Shriners for Children Medical Center in Pasadena, set to open in mid-2017. DPR is the general contractor on the new state-of-the-art specialty outpatient medical center.

DPR is constructing a new, leading-edge outpatient care facility that will include an ambulatory surgical center to house Shriners for Children Medical Center’s clinical, diagnostic, outpatient surgery and rehabilitation units, which will help bring exceptional specialty pediatric care to millions of children regardless of the families’ ability to pay. The project includes demolition of two existing structures and approximately 164,000 square feet of new construction, including three levels of subterranean parking and green roof terraces.

Construction on the new facility began in April 2015, after nearly 16 months of preconstruction. Leading up to the recent milestone, DPR partnered with the design team of SRG and CO Architects to deliver the parking levels one week ahead of schedule.
