BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — DeAngelis Diamond Healthcare Group has been selected to enter into contract negotiation for the construction of a medical village in Estero, Florida after winning a competitive request for qualification process for the Lee Memorial Hospital Mixed Use Healthcare Development and Retail Services project.
The project is located on a 31-acre site located on the south side of Coconut Road. Altogether, the project will total 136,900 square feet. The new health and wellness destination will be the only medical center in southern Lee County addressing the service gaps around the area.
The healthcare center will include a freestanding emergency department, healthy life center, outpatient surgery center, clinical decision unit, laboratory, imaging, rehab therapy, cardiac testing and physician office space.
Services will focus on health, healing and treatment, and patients will experience convenience through the hospitals’ system, “five ones” of healthcare connectivity—one registration, one point of scheduling, one combined schedule of care, one electronic medical record and one patient portal.
The contract will be presented for approval at the next meeting of the Lee Memorial Health System board of directors on Oct. 22.
