OAKLAND, Calif. — UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland recently achieved a major milestone when the Oakland City Council unanimously approved the certification of the Environmental Impact Report for the hospital’s master plan. The project will rebuild and modernize the hospital to meet the demands of seismic regulations and improve facilities for children, adolescents and their families.
The hospital’s master plan includes 210 onsite patient beds; creation of individual patient rooms; expansion of the outpatient center; new surgical, diagnostic and treatment rooms, support services and clinics to help ensure the best hospital experience for patients and families.
Construction on the modernization project is expected to begin in late summer 2015.
