TYLER, Texas — Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics has plans to construct and operate a new community hospital in Tyler, Texas, expanding access to high-quality healthcare across East Texas.
As part of this expansion, Trinity Mother Frances has entered into a joint-venture agreement with Emerus to build and manage this site and to lay the groundwork for additional facilities throughout the region.
The new community hospital will offer the same high-quality services, including emergency medical care, inpatient care and other comprehensive health services that are found throughout TMFHC’s larger campus facilities. This hospital facility differs from urgent care centers in that most are designed only to handle simple, non-life-threatening medical complaints, often during regular or extended business hours.
The new community hospital will be staffed by board-certified physicians, experienced nurses and other clinical specialists dedicated to providing the same level of compassionate, patient-focused care found at TMFHC’s existing hospital locations. The first level will be composed of a comprehensive emergency department, inpatient wing and quick-access lab services. The second level will house a full-scale imaging center along with multiple primary care and specialty physicians. The community hospital will operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, offering patients the highest levels of care and convenience close to home.
The new hospital will be located on the northwest corner of Cumberland Road and Broadway Avenue in south Tyler. Construction on the initial three-story, multi-million-dollar hospital is expected to begin by the end of the year with a projected opening in the third quarter of 2016. The initiative is expected to create more than 100 permanent jobs in the Tyler area.
