MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Kraus-Anderson Construction Company has completed an extensive hospital expansion and renovation, as well as a new Specialty Care Center on the Fairview Ridges Hospital medical campus in Burnsville, Minnesota.
Fairview Ridges’ expansion of almost 50,000 square feet includes a new 8,300-square-foot laboratory. The hospital’s sixth floor was built out as a 26-bed inpatient surgical unit, and the neonatal intensive care and pediatric units were extensively remodeled. A new outpatient observation unit was opened in refurbished space and several new emergency treatment spaces were created.
Designed by BWBR, Fairview Ridges Specialty Care Center is the largest ambulatory care facility in the region. The 133,000-square-foot specialty care center was developed and is owned, managed and leased by Frauenshuh Health Care Real Estate Solutions.
The state-of-art specialty care center is home to a new imaging center, including MRI, CT and nuclear medicine units; comprehensive orthopedic and spine services; ambulatory surgery center; heart clinic and cardiology testing; cancer clinic, including chemotherapy and infusion; cardiac rehabilitation center; retail pharmacy and home medical equipment store.
The specialty care center is also served by a new 419-stall south parking ramp and associated surface parking, along with a skyway connector to the hospital. The project included a 3,200-square-foot mechanical addition.
