SHANGHAI, China — Gresham, Smith and Partners has been selected to provide architectural, interior design and engineering services for a new 269,000-square-foot, 100-bed hospital in Ningbo, China. The new facility will provide high-quality OB-GYN and pediatric services for private patients, meeting both Chinese and international standards. GS&P’s design applies a modern aesthetic that will contribute to and enhance the community while supporting the hospital as a landmark building.

“We are proud to have been selected to work together with American-Sino Hospital as they continue to expand their presence in China,” commented Kevin KS. Kim, AIA, Gresham, Smith and Partners. “Our design seeks to further their efforts of providing high-quality care and will incorporate Evidence-Based and Lean design strategies that are proven to support patient, family and staff satisfaction while improving health outcomes and operational efficiencies. Our goal is to create a facility of choice among women in the region by incorporating advances in western design with elements to support Chinese culture.”

With the goal of delivering the highest quality of care and fostering long-term patient relationships, the new facility will contain 32,000 square feet of outpatient emergency space, 16 LDRP executive suites and 4 LDRP presidential suites. To respect privacy and deliver the personalized service, the LDRP presidential suites provide their own check-in, delivery and recovery spaces. The new hospital will also include two C-section suites, four operating rooms, four NICU beds, two ICU beds, 64 inpatient beds, a patient and staff cafeteria, grand lobby, a VIP lounge on the top floor and a 250-car underground parking area.
