BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — A team including Brasfield & Gorrie, general contractor, Goodwyn, Mills & Cawood, architect and Colliers International, project developer, joined MedHelp to break ground on a new medical complex in Birmingham, Alabama.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held on June 6 to mark the start of construction.
The 40,000-square-foot, two-story facility will replace MedHelp’s current family practice and urgent care clinic on Highway 280 once construction is complete. MedHelp, which has been serving Birmingham and the surrounding areas for more than 33 years, will relocate its corporate headquarters from the current location on Lakeshore Drive in Homewood to the new facility. The Lakeshore clinic will remain in operation.
The team expects to complete construction of the facility by spring 2015.
