TAMPA, Fla. — Stevens Construction has completed construction of a complex, multi-phase revitalization of Florida Hospital Tampa, announced Mark Stevens, company president. Construction was completed in multiple phases allowing the hospital to remain operational throughout the entire project. The Florida Hospital Tampa renovation is Stevens Construction’s largest project to date.
The master project included both interior and exterior updates to the building located in Tampa, Fla. Exterior updates include 202,732 square feet of updated exterior vertical wall surface, the addition of more than 30,000 square feet of impact-rated glass windows on the south, main and north towers and unique up-lighting features to illuminate the hospital exterior. Stevens Construction also added a new canopy entry to the main tower and completed roof replacement renovations.
Stevens Construction performed interior renovations of 355 patient rooms which included new flooring and painting.
The Stevens Construction team included Bill Roach as project manager, Mike Garland as superintendent and Denise Castaneda as project administrator.
HuntonBrady Architects designed the project.
Stevens Construction has completed more than 20 projects for Florida Hospital at numerous campuses, including a 40,351-square-foot medical office and surgical center and a 50,000-square-foot, 36-bed expansion at Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Center in Sebring, Fla.
