The Lawrence General Hospital Board of Trustees has unanimously approved a multi-year master facility plan. The $72-million capital investment is the largest in the organization’s history.
The multi-year plan includes renovation, expansion and modernization of the hospital’s campus to include a new surgical building, inpatient unit renovations and infrastructure upgrades.
The 42,250-square-foot surgical building will be constructed on the campus to include new preoperative and postoperative space and state-of-the art operating rooms. Approximately 25,600 square feet of inpatient renovations will result in additional private patient rooms, as well as added family support and waiting areas designed to further enhance patience experience and satisfaction during inpatient stays.
This announcement follows the recent news that LGH and Pentucket Medical are together developing the 30,000-square-foot Andover Medical Center in Andover, Mass. scheduled to open later in 2014.
