Parkland Aerial-LG RDALLAS, Texas — KLMK Group, Inc. a provider of healthcare planning and facility related advisory solutions, has been awarded the contract for facility activation for Parkland Hospital.

The new Parkland Hospital master plan includes an 862 bed adult inpatient hospital, 380,000-square-foot outpatient center, 6,000 vehicle parking lot and central utility plant and logistics building. This is the largest hospital construction project in the nation costing approximately $1.3 billion. The 2.5-million-square-foot facility is currently on schedule and on budget.

“Parkland is fortunate to have KLMK as part of its transitional planning team,” stated Kathy Harper, vice president for clinical coordination.

The new facility will provide a patient-centered environment including more space for families and visitors. The entire hospital is being designed with the patient in mind, promoting a more healing environment including natural light and windows. In addition, the hospital will provide the most cutting-edge technology, promoting excellence in clinical care, teaching and research. Green building methods will be utilized to create a sustainable, environmentally friendly facility.

KLMK was hired during the analysis and start-up phase for move activation planning. KLMK is assisting Parkland in the development and implementation of the move activation plan to include patient relocation, staff move coordination, management of content relocation activities, and budget and schedule development. KLMK is also assisting in the tracking of the training plan, IT planning, occupancy strategy development and providing information to facilitate timely decision making. KLMK will continue to support the Parkland team until facility completion and activation in 2015.
