The program is intended to provide facility improvements needed to address changes in healthcare delivery and enhance BHN’s sustainability profile and hurricane resistance. BHN recently celebrated its 50th anniversary as a mainstay for healthcare for the citizens of Broward County.
Planned activities will include expansion and renovation to the emergency department and operating suites. In addition, the central energy plant will be upgraded and the building envelope redone to make the facility more sustainable and to conform to current building code requirements.
“As construction program managers, our task is to validate the hospital’s program concept and create a roadmap for implementation, to find efficiencies where applicable, maintain operations in the midst of change, bolster community trust and to assist in positioning the facility to meet future healthcare needs,” said Allen Redmon, Heery’s program manager.
