gI_0_CathedralHillHospital2Southland Industries and Rosendin Electric have selected ISAT for seismic design and engineering services for the Cathedral Hill Hospital.

International Seismic Application Technology (ISAT), the industry leader in seismic bracing and code compliance for non-structural building utilities, is pleased to announce its selection by Southland Industries and Rosendin Electric as a partner on its Cathedral Hill Hospital Project. ISAT will provide all seismic design engineering and construction components for the Mechanical, Electrical and Piping (MEP) systems for one of the largest health care projects currently targeted for LEED Gold certification in California.

The project, a thirteen story urban replacement hospital in the heart of San Francisco, involves constructing a 555 bed facility of approximately 1.2 million square feet that will provide leading edge health care services for adults and children. ISAT will perform 3D BIM Modeling and collision detection of the MEP utilities, thermal pipe stress analysis, deck insert coordination, and will assist in the OSHPD submittal review process. ISAT will also provide all seismic anchorage engineering for the MEP equipment systems, fuel oil systems, and kitchen equipment.

ISAT will act as an Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) team member throughout the duration of the project, a method that integrates client representatives, designers, contractors and key trade partners in a single location to ensure collaboration in all aspects of design and delivery. This method is designed to optimize project results, increase value to the owner, reduce waste, and maximize efficiency throughout all phases of design, fabrication, and construction.

“The award of this complex project reflects ISAT’s demonstrated success in health care facility projects” states Jim Massey, ISAT Vice President. “We appreciate the confidence Southland Industries and Rosendin Electric have demonstrated in ISAT by awarding us this project, and we look forward to delivering exceptional results.”

ISAT’s involvement will maximize project management processes and ensure code compliance as well as reduce labor and risk associated with seismic bracing for Southland Industries and Rosendin Electric.
