Building Expansion Complete at Spring Valley Hospital

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Brasfield & Gorrie has completed construction on a $28-million renovation and expansion at Spring Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. The project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget. Universal Health Services is the owner. Hammel, Green and Abrahamson served as architect on the project.

The scope of the project included a new 88,000-square-foot, four-floor patient tower addition and 15,000 square feet of renovation work. The new patient tower includes an 18-bed post-partum unit, 36-bed surgical unit, administrative offices and additional shell space for future growth.

Special features of the new Spring Valley Hospital patient tower include:

First Floor

  • A separate, 24-hour entrance to the BirthPlace at Spring Valley Hospital so expectant mothers who arrive after hours will no longer have to check in at the emergency department or walk through the hospital
  • Three additional labor and delivery suites
  • Three Level II neonatal intensive care unit layettes
  • Easy access to labor suites and the NICU if needed
  • Maternity registration available 24/7
  • Private rooms for maternity patients, from the time they arrive until they leave the hospital
  • An additional 18 private patient rooms for mothers and babies, with room to expand, as needed
  • Tastefully appointed lobby with extra power outlets for charging devices
  • Available Wi-Fi is available throughout the building
  • Small courtyard with desert landscaping

Second – Fourth Floors

  • The second floor features an additional 36 private rooms for patients with medical diagnoses or are recovering from surgery
  • Large visitor waiting room which connects the new patient tower to the existing hospital
  • The third and fourth floors will eventually accommodate up to 72 more beds as needed
